Sage - The burning of sage is most often associated with Native Americans, who performed ceremonial smudging to rid spaces and people of negative energy, dispel illness, and set the stage for new beginnings and good fortune.
Palo Santo - Use Palo Santo to help keep energies grounded and clear, dismissing negative energies and inviting positive energy and intentions to take their place.
Smudging Feather - It is traditional to use a bird's feather to brush the smoke over the person or object being blessed. It is important to use the underside of the feather to wash the smoke over the object of blessing.
Mini Abalone shell - Abalone shells are often used in smudging rituals, not only because they are practical in that they catch the hot cinders that fall away from the smudging stick after it has burnt, but also because they are a beautiful gift straight from Mother Earth's ocean.
Sand - You may wish to use a layer of sand inside the abalone shell to protect the natural shine that it has, from any smoke or embers.
